Terms and Conditions

This English version is provided for your convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.

SmartFridge Premium has not yet been released. These terms already describe the intended process via the Apple App Store and Google Play and will be finalized before release.

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to the use of the SmartFridge app and — once available — to the purchase of SmartFridge Premium.

2. Contracting party

The contracting party is Robin Lorenz, Ensinger Straße 44, 89073 Ulm, Germany (see Imprint).

3. Description of services

SmartFridge provides, free of charge, features for managing your fridge contents, AI-powered meal planning, recipes, shopping lists, and sharing with your household. Additionally, a paid add-on ("SmartFridge Premium") with extended features is planned, offered as an individual or family/multi-person subscription (see Section 5).

4. User account

Using the app requires creating a user account with an email address. Using the app requires a minimum age of 16. Entering into paid purchases (SmartFridge Premium) requires the user's legal capacity to contract, or, for minors, the consent of a parent or legal guardian; the technical approval of purchases by minors is additionally governed by the respective parental control settings of the store used (e.g. "Ask to Buy" on the Apple App Store or "Family Link" on Google Play).

5. SmartFridge Premium

SmartFridge Premium is offered as an in-app purchase or subscription and can be purchased either through the Apple App Store or through Google Play. In addition to individual subscriptions, there are family/multi-person subscriptions that apply to several members of the same household. The current price, billing period and renewal terms will be shown to you in the respective store before purchase. Payment processing is handled entirely by the respective store operator (Apple or Google); I do not receive or process any payment data. To manage purchases and subscription status across platforms, I use RevenueCat. In addition to these terms, the respective store's terms apply (Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions or Google Play's Terms of Service).

6. Right of withdrawal

Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal under German law (Sec. 355, 356 BGB). For digital content, this right expires early under Sec. 356(5) BGB if you expressly consent to the performance of the purchase before the withdrawal period ends and confirm that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. Since purchases are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, this consent is obtained as part of the purchase flow there. For refunds, please contact Apple or Google directly.

7. Cancellation / termination of subscriptions

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the account settings of the store through which the subscription was purchased (Apple ID settings or Google Play account settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; amounts already paid for the current period are not refunded on a pro-rata basis unless required by law. Deleting your user account in the app does not automatically cancel an active subscription — this must be cancelled separately directly in the respective store. The user account itself can be deleted independently at any time via the app.

8. Availability and changes to the app

I make reasonable efforts to keep the app available without interruption, but cannot guarantee this. Features of the app may be adjusted, extended, or discontinued as part of ongoing development.

9. Liability

I am liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slightly negligent breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal obligations), liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise, liability for slightly negligent breaches of duty is excluded.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated, in particular if SmartFridge's or SmartFridge Premium's feature set changes. I will inform you of material changes in an appropriate manner.

11. Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your habitual place of residence remain unaffected.
